  3. One note of caution… A variable rate mortgage can go up or down regardless of the BOE rate changes. You are at the whim or your lender. Whereas a tracker mortgage will only go up or down when BOE rates change.

  5. This is very informative and thank you Humble Penny. A quick question: I got a previous mortgage deal at 2.68% early this year but the sellers pulled out because of an issue from their side. Our broker was able to secure the 2.68% deal for 5 year fixed for us on a new property, few weeks before the higher rates were announced. Do you think this is a great rate to be on at these uncertain times?
